Distortion is almost zero. Although distortion can be corrected for in post processing, it is still not a desirable trait. The less you do in post, saves time. Additionally if you decide to shoot video, this lens works great. When used for portraits, it can be quite pleasing. The light fall off is not a huge concern and is quite good for a low-light telephoto lens. The grayscale images below show the light fall off across the first few apertures. Longitudinal Axial chromatic aberration cannot easily be corrected in post processing. The image below shows an extreme example of a high contrast environment to demonstrate the longitudinal chromatic aberration. You can see the green and magenta edges.

Other sources of information include web-pages and anonymous information passed down to me through others. There is a real absence of information on large format lenses. Of the contemporary makers, only Schneider has made a great effort to provide information, the other lens makers have been less forthcoming. However Rodenstock serial numbers, the other major European manufacturer, have been posted by Kerry Thalman.
There are a few web-pages, both official and unofficial, for other three manufacturers, Congo , Nikon, Unofficial and Official and Fuji , also here.

The F3’s sophisticated TTL flash metering measures the exposure off the film plane during the moment of exposure. To take advantage of this, one needed a flash designed for the F3’s flash mount. All these flash units supported full TTL operation with the F3. Among the conventional units, the SB was small and light, and the SB A was powerful and versatile. Third-party makers like Sunpack also offered units for the F3.
Near the end of its production run, Nikon engineers did what they should have done in

Watch the sidelines at the next professional sporting event you attend or watch on TV. Look for the identifying L-lens red stripe around the end of the photographers’ camera lenses. These are the people who make a living with their equipment – and they frequently trust the CanonL Lens Series for their income. About their L lenses, Canon says “these lenses use special optical technologies [such as] Ultra-low Dispersion UD glass, Super Low Dispersion glass, Fluorite elements, and Aspherical elements to truly push the optical envelope.
What you can get when you use Canon L lenses if you do your part right are amazing pictures. In fact, this amazement is said to cause a disease know as “L-Disease”. Once caught, it is incurable. You will have to buy Canon L lenses in all of the focal lengths you use. AND you will be happy and I hope you know that I am not being totally serious. Both lenses have Wimberley P20 Lens Plates mounted on their tripod rings.

I prefer solidly made binoculars, and have amassed a modest little collection of prized specimens, mostly acquired off eBayUK, but also charity shops and car boot fairs. I used to own a pair of 11×80’s bought off Leo Henzl Jnr in , but I sold them 10 years later. They were too heavy to hold for more than a couple of minutes, and on a photographic tripod, too awkward to point near the zenith.
You really need a parallelogram mount for binoculars that size and larger. I prefer a binocular you can carry with you to a star party, for casual star gazing.
Thom Hogan’s recommended lenses for Nikon DX cameras. Note: This is different than the Recommended listings you may see in the individual reviews.
They began with some employees and eight German technicians who were invited in July of and arrived in January of They were actually an optical firm and not a camera manufacturer, therefore, their beginnings parallel those of Leitz and Zeiss, who also began as optical manufacturers. They began to produce a vast array of optical products such as microscopes, telescopes, transits, surveying equipment and optical measuring devices for industry and science.
Because of the types of products they made they became well known in the scientific and industrial communities but not to the general consumer. By the ‘thirties they were producing a series of photographic lenses from 50mm to mm, mostly for plate back cameras, and the word ‘Nikkor’ was first used, having derived it from ‘Nikko’ which was used on their early microscopes.
By July and August of they had completed the design of 50mm f4. Nippon Kogaku actually produced all of Canon’s lenses up to mid ; therefore all prewar and early postwar Canons came with Nikkor lenses. Of course the first were in Canon’s own bayonet mount, but later ones were equipped with the Leica thread mount.
How to work out the age of a Canon lens
Lateral chromatic aberration is easy to correct in post processing, and Nikon automatically corrects for it in its internal camera processing. This lens has minimal lateral CA. Longitudinal chromatic aberration cannot easily be corrected in post processing. Light fall off, or vignetting, is not a huge concern with this lens. The corners are a bit dark

The camera is in over all Good condition, but the shutter is dragging and would need t have a CLA in order to shoot it. The mounted lens is the Nikkor-H-C 1: The leather case back is stamped “Made in Occupied Japan”, and the inside of the back has the matching serial number to the body, this is VERY hard to find! This camera comes with TWO extra lenses as well!
These lenses are in Excellent condition and both come with their metal hoods very rare and with their leather cases as well. This lens also has the viewfinder adapter that mounts in the cameras cold shoe, and its own leather case. The second is a less rare Nikkor-Q-C 1: The viewfinder adapter is also included with its case. This lens has a tripod socket on it. Both lenses operated smoothly, apertures have positive stops, no haze or fungus, no dents, no scratches. These are probably the nicest copies of these two lenses that I have ever seen.
I am not inclined to break this set up as I feel it is best kept together. Pictures to follow soon.

Its upgrades are welcome, because though the Canon 5D leads the race for overall image quality for many photographers, it lags behind in a few key areas, most of which improve with the 5D Mark II. Though no one at Imaging-Resource. While the former two cameras achieve to 25, expanded, they do it at Many of the other features that debuted on the Canon 50D are included in the 5D Mark II, but one major new feature that probably should have made it into the 50D makes its stand instead in the 5D Mark II: That’s right, this high-end digital SLR can capture movies at x pixels at 30 frames per second.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this list. If you have questions or new information please contact me , or you can support this site by making a donation. This page lists every Nikon lens version and sub-version I know of. Minor changes to internal mechanics, lens coating, engravings or electronics may not be listed. For each version up to four serial numbers are given: Start – Earliest – Latest – End.
The ESN (Electronic Serial Number) is a serial number unique to each and every CDMA phone. A CDMA phone typically does not have a SIM Card and is usually Verizon, Sprint, Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, Metro PCS, Cricket or Alltel.
The Kodak Medalist was an unusual design for a medium format camera when it was introduced in Most rollfilm cameras of this vintage were folders, similar to the Kodak Tourist shown in this site. The Medalist, however, was a rigid cast-aluminum body design with a unique double helical lens tube in place of the conventional cloth bellows. This design was stronger, protected internal mechanisms better and was nearly as compact when the lens was retracted. Like other Kodaks designed to use 2.
Film is advanced with a conventional knob, and while there is a red window on the camera back to view the numbers on the backing paper, this is only necessary to index the first frame; then a small knob on the camera’s top is set to start the auto frame measuring feature. Winding the film cocks the shutter.
